Ministry Focus for 2008:
Abused/battered women & Aborion/Post-Abortion trauma The Women's ministry of TFC exemplifies love, giving and friendship for women of all ages and walks of life. Through our ministry to the Battered Women's Shelter, we collected 30 cosmetic bags filled with basic makeup pieces to give to the women at the shelter. Although seemingly simple, these cosmetics give these ladies a sense of normalcy in a situation which is anything but normal. It also supplies them with items they may have left behind or had no access to before coming to the shelters.
We plan to have a baby shower to benefit the Women's Resource Center this fall. The shower will provide needed items for an organization that supports young women who choose life for their unborn babies. They also give help and counseling to women who have had abortions.
The mission of the Women's Ministries is to help heal the hurt of rejection and to show the love and acceptance given to us through the love of Jesus Christ. Some of our sisters have suffered in silence for many years, some are suffering wounds that are still very fresh.
But, we girls also have fun!
A very important tool of the ministry is to develop relationships through fellowship and friendship. Our Mother/Daughter dinner this year was held at The Olive Garden. The food was great, but the conversation and sharing of our hearts was amazing! We have also adopted a tradition of a Christmas dinner at Carlos.
